Margaret Black

Margaret Black: A Bandleader for more than twenty one years. She began and learned the business of being a band leader and the art of making a costume through her Mother-In-law Jean Mayhew. She came to the USA via Trinidad, grew up in Morvant, and was a member of the Morvant Ebonites. Over the years Soca and Associates have won several trophies in the Boston Carnival arena from Band of the years, King and Queen Show to Kiddies Carnival.

2012 Band Launch Review: Last Sunday evening guest of SOCA and Associates were treated to a fabulous preview of their 2012 masterpiece FEMME FATALE. As usual with this organization, their colors and imaginative designs are always original.
There were several hundred people in attendance, representative from the organizing committee CACAB was spotted in the crowd. Behind the seems Mr. Daryl Cox, designer and president of his organization Island Pride Inc. were helping with the face paintings. Many of all the masqueraders were excited about the year's designs and could not wait for Boston’s Trinidad style carnival to arrive, which is schedule to take place in August 25, 2012.
